Catherine Abigail Ward

​Catherine Abigail Ward is a London-based actor, theatre-maker, puppeteer, and facilitator. 

 

 A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (MA - Acting), Catherine was born in Melbourne, Australia, where she appeared in productions such as The Comedy of Errors for The Australian Shakespeare Company, The Flick for MU Modern Theatre, and onscreen in The Doctor Blake Mysteries for the ABC. She is co-founder of the Australian theatre company 7th Floor Theatre - producing, directing, and performing in productions Where's My Money? and Sprout. While at RADA, Catherine co-devised and appeared as Yvette in Mother Courage And Her Children, Jenny in This Is Highly Unusual, and Boom Clown in Tis Pity Its a Bloodsport.  Post-training, her original show MASO SCHISM  (Running With Scissors) appeared at the Voila Festival in 2024. The same year Catherine was also seen in Deer Life and the short film Juana. 


In 2024 she was awarded a Developing Your Creative Practice grant by Arts Council England to support her original theatre-making practice, making theatre responding to the climate crisis. Following this, in 2025, she embarked as a puppeteer in the acclaimed European tour of 'The Herds,' a 20,000km journey of public art theatre from the Congo Basin to the Arctic Circle. 

Catherine is a certified Carbon Literacy Facilitator and an experienced access support practitioner for artists across multiple forms.
